Awesome Spring Break Outdoor Destinations in the Bay Area

For those who are looking for outdoor adventures and road trips for spring break, there are some places around the Bay Area that you will surely love. Here are some destinations where you can gather your friends and family.

Explore Andy Goldsworthy’s Art in The Presidio

The Presidio of San Francisco is a park and former U.S. Army military fort on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula in San Francisco, California, and is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Presidio is home to the largest collection of Andy Goldsworthy sculptures on public view in North America.

Picnic on Angel Island

Pack your favorite treats and board the Blue & Gold Fleet ferry from San Francisco, or rent a kayak from Sea Trek in Sausalito and paddle the three-mile journey yourself. Thirteen miles of hiking trails and eight more of paved paths (if you want to bring your bikes along) await once you disembark. For a picture-perfect picnic spot, hike to the top of Mount Livermore (the island’s highest peak) and you’ll be greeted by the ultimate ‎360° view.

Hit the Slopes at WinterWonderGrass

If you’re really looking to get away from it all for spring break, consider heading to the Sierras for some serious slope action, local brews, and live music at WinterWonderGrass’ Tahoe festival. This festival offers three days of music including California craft beer sampling and a 3-day ski pass option. Even if you can only get away for one day, single day passes are available.

Dance Under a Cloud of Color at Holi San Jose

Held in San Jose’s Rainbow Park, this Festival of Color event features live bands, DJs, interactive dance, yoga, food, and of course, enough color throws to make you indistinguishable (and fabulous) by day’s end.
